This revelation enabled Moses to understand the God of the Hebrews as the sovereign Lord over nature and the nations of the world. God reassured Moses that in the future he and the Hebrews would worship at this mountain. 25:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,25:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.25:3 And this [is] the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass,25:4 And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' [hair],25:5 And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood,25:6 Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense,25:7 Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate.25:8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.25:9 According to all that I show thee, [after] the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make [it]. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.3:7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which [are] in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;3:8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.3:9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.3:10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.3:11 And Moses said unto God, Who [am] I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?3:12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this [shall be] a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.3:13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, [when] I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What [is] his name? Moses returned to Egypt, possibly at the age of forty, during the reign of Ramses II. Along the way, God came without warning to kill Moses. And he said, A rod.4:3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. 19 Now the LORD had said to Moses in Midian, "Go back to Egypt, for all the men who sought to kill you are dead." 20 So Moses took his wife and sons, put them on a donkey, and headed . or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? NOTE: The reason no one knows where Moses was buried is because God resurrected him. There his two sons were born. Moses was also told ahead of time that Pharaoh would not let the people go at first, but finally after10 plagues fellon the Egyptians Pharaoh sent for Moses and told him to take the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses, who was about to lead the circumcised people of Israel, had not yet circumcised his own son. However, outside Egyptian sources tell us it was common practice for new pharaohs to pardon criminals for their crimes, creating a "clean slate" from which to begin their rule of law. Since Egypt controlled Canaan (Palestine) and part of Syria and had contacts with other nations of the Fertile Crescent, Moses undoubtedly had general knowledge of life in the ancient Near East. It can be seen in the verses above that God was always with them, leading them with the cloud by day and fire by night. This God, who claimed to be the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, was calling him to deliver the Hebrews from Egypt.
